Klamath-Siskiyou Outdoor School (KSOS) Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need special equipment to participate?
No! We will send out a packing list before KSOS and participants can borrow any backpacking/camping supplies they need from the list.
Who can apply?
KSOS is open to local Mid-Klamath youth ages 12-14. If you are 11 years old and in 6th grade you are also eligible to apply. 15-year-olds can apply to be Junior Counselors.
Are you hiring junior counselors?
You know it! If you are 14 or 15 years old and interested in taking on a leadership role during KSOS, please apply to be a Junior Counselor. Junior Counselors assist Counselors to keep camp running smoothly, lead activities, and help fellow campers throughout the week. Junior counselors receive stipends for their hard work. To apply, please fill out the general KSOS application as well as the Junior Counselor application.
Am I guaranteed a spot at KSOS if I apply?
Sadly, we cannot guarantee a spot for every applicant because of limited space. Having your application complete and submitted on time, responding to the camper essays, and living in the Mid Klamath region are all great ways to increase your chances of securing a spot.
