Youth Summer Programs

MKWC offers cost free summer experiences designed for Mid Klamath youth. We involve youth in hands-on natural resource restoration and monitoring, recreational adventures from rafting to backpacking, and outdoor learning activities led by local experts, and so much more!

These programs promote positive connections and teamwork between youth from all around the region, helping open doors for future collaborations between the next generation of Klamath River stewards.

Klamath-Siskiyou Outdoor School (KSOS) Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need special equipment to participate?

No! We will send out a packing list before KSOS and participants can borrow any backpacking/camping supplies they need from the list.

Are you hiring junior counselors?

You know it! If you are 14 years old and interested in taking on a leadership role during KSOS, please apply to be a Junior Counselor. Junior Counselors assist Counselors to keep camp running smoothly, lead activities, and help fellow campers throughout the week. Junior counselors receive stipends for their hard work. On occasion, we do open KSOS to 15-year-olds as Junior Counselors. To apply, please fill out the general KSOS application as well as the Junior Counselor application.

Am I guaranteed a spot at KSOS if I apply?

Sadly, we cannot guarantee a spot for every applicant because of limited space. Having your application complete and submitted on time, responding to the camper essays, and living in the Mid Klamath region are all great ways to increase your chances of securing a spot.
