rafting_crop.jpgMKWC offers a series of cost-free restoration raft trips to youth in the Mid Klamath region. Restoration raft trips are based on experiential education as students learn about local ecology, wildlife, botany, fisheries, and participate in hands-on restoration projects. Past restoration activities have included invasive weed removal, fish passage improvement, fish habitat enhancement, tree planting, and river clean-up. Other activities include snorkeling and juvenile fish identification, surveying and diving for freshwater mussels, and receiving presentations from natural and cultural resource specialists.

These raft trips are a challenging adventure for local youth that foster an appreciation for their environment. In addition, participants have an opportunity to meet youth from other towns along the river, and make summer friendships. All raft trips are cost-free and lunch is provided. MKWC contracts to the Klamath River Outfitters, our local licensed and insured raft guides. http://www.klamathriveroutfitters.com/.
